This notice explains how Perth Roof Quotes handles personal information from people who use this website. We handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles.
What information do we collect?#
When you make an enquiry, we collect the details you enter:
- the roofing service you need and how soon;
- your suburb and postcode (we do not ask for your street address at this stage);
- details about the roof, such as its material and height;
- your description of the problem and any photos you choose to include;
- your name and the email address and/or phone number you give us;
- your consent to pass the enquiry to a roofing contractor.
We also record the date of the enquiry and the page you came from, so we can manage enquiries and understand which guides are useful.
How do we use it?#
We use your information to send your quote request to a roofer who can contact you about the job, to deal with any follow-up about that enquiry, and to keep a record of enquiries we have handled. We do not use it to send you unrelated marketing.
Who receives my enquiry?#
- A roofing contractor. With your consent, we send your enquiry to a roofing contractor who works in Perth and handles the type of job you describe, so they can contact you to discuss it, arrange an inspection and quote. Once they receive it, the contractor handles your information under their own privacy obligations.
- Our service providers. Businesses that host the website and deliver email handle information on our behalf so the site and enquiries work.
- Where required by law. We may disclose information if the law requires it.
We do not sell or rent your personal information to other businesses for their marketing.
How enquiries are sent#
When you press Send my quote request, the details you entered are sent over an encrypted connection to the form service that delivers enquiries to our inbox. The form does not save your answers in your browser’s storage. Photos are not uploaded through the form; if a contractor needs them, they will ask.
How long do we keep it?#
We keep enquiry details only for as long as we need them to handle the enquiry and any follow-up, and to keep reasonable business records. After that we delete them.
Cookies and analytics#
We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use this website, such as which pages are read and whether the quote form is completed. Google Analytics uses cookies and collects information such as your device, browser, approximate location and the pages you visit. It does not receive the details you type into our forms. Google handles this information under its own privacy policy. You can opt out with Google’s browser add-on or by blocking cookies in your browser.
Accessing, correcting or deleting your information#
You can ask what information we hold about you, ask us to correct it or ask us to delete it through our contact form: choose “Privacy request”. If we have already passed your enquiry to a contractor, we will tell you who received it so you can contact them too.
Complaints#
If you have a concern about how we have handled your information, contact us first through the contact form and we will respond. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner.
Changes to this notice#
We will update this notice if the way we handle information changes, and show the date it was last updated at the top of the page.
